On my third play through and encountered "The Root Shrine" event for the first time. You have to "Survive the Metamorphosis" which basically means survive against waves of enemies. I managed this with no damage. Reward is the Twisted armor set. Enjoy! If you're looking for this event, I found it on Earth in "The Gallows", which I got to via the "Westcourt" area.
