Congress President Rahul Gandhi promised to provide up to Rs 72,000 per annum to 20 per cent of India's poorest families if his party comes to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP was quick to retaliate, with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley calling the promise as a "bluff announcement". Economist Arun Kumar on the show says that the biggest challenge would be to identify those whose annual income falls below Rs 72,000 per annum especially given that the actual income of people employed in the unorganised sector is not known.
