Dutch ambulance w| an interesting pull out cabinet - Miesen - Rettmobil 2019 expo [GER | 5.2019] Close look at a Mercedes Sprinter ambulance which was made by C. Miesen for the Dutch Utrecht Provice Emergency Medical Services (RAVU).
Below are 2 very interesting points that I want to mention and explain.

AMBER & GREEN LIGHTS:

- The blue lights are the emergency lights.
- From what I understand Dutch law describes that emergency services can only use amber lights at scenes. Personally I can't really understand that law because an emergency scene should still be distinguishable but .. yeah..
- From what I've also heard every Dutch emergency vehicle must have green lights in case that the vehicle will be used as a command vehicle.

In other words:
Blue = responding
Amber = on scene
Green = command

The unit also features wig-wags which seem to be controlled independently.

AUTOMATIC PULL OUT CABINET

Dutch law prohibits emergency service providers to stand up as well as to unbuckle during responses, transports and emergency transports. That limits what the emergency personnel is able to do in the back while transporting a patient.
This legal reason is the reason why the company developed the automatic pull out cabinet which can be seen at 2:08 and 2:36.

Another very interesting solution to the issue that the Dutch EMS guys face is the one right here:
Osage and Butler County EMS designed an ambulance that covers this point absolutely perfect.

What solution do you prefer? My personal favorite is the solution from Osage/ Butler County EMS.

Apart from the question above is another interesting idea which comes from Demers. The guys over there have developed a moving seat as seen here:
